From the lights of Broadway to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen, winning her heart might cost him everything
Alexis Murphy is done messing with the wrong kinds of men. She could not be happier planning a personalized Grace Evangeline wedding with her fiancé, Jeffrey, who is so right for her. Or is he?
Stage star and spokesmodel, Bo Corrigan, could be the ultimate disruption. Alexis—Exi—is caught by his talent and sexual magnetism. Yet under the glow, she senses trouble, not only danger from Bo’s past mistakes, but something inside tearing him apart.
From the moment Bo sees Exi, he knows she’s special, but not only that—she’s real. Unlike the theater scene he’s been immersed in, she sees the man he is and won’t stop until she’s reached inside and brought that person from despair to life … if only they have time.
With violent forces against them, can they get beyond the damage to love that heals and restores?

The wait for this novel was agonizing after my pure adulation with Told You So. When attempting to quantify Kristen Heitzmann’s talent, it is worth reiteration that she is a master at personalizing and humanizing complex life trials. The intricate nuances of her storytelling breathe vitality in to characters like Bo and Exi so that they leap off the page with their dimensionality and intricacies.
Settling in to the this novel was not an easy read. Allow me to explain: Heitzmann’s writing engages the intellect, beseeches the heart, and stirs the spirit. When Bo breaks, we break along with him; when Exi grieves, our tears flow in solidarity. While the story is not “easy,” it is consuming and engrossing as both characters are forced to confront issues that are deep rooted and perfidious. Upon finishing Told You Twice, I found myself in a stupor as I continued to absorb the emotional labyrinth that I had fought through alongside Exi and Bo and took a moment to dwell and rejoice in their victory.
Told You Twice is unsurprisingly another triumph for Kristen Heitzmann. I speculate that her move to self-publishing will see her tapping in to unexplored reserves not brandished in her delightful CBA novels. And so, the clock starts ticking away the seconds until her next release.
