I am a glutton for self-punishment. Every year I challenge myself to surpass the number of books read in the previous year and track my progress through Goodreads. The site offers passive aggressive encouragement over the course of the yearly challenge, from “you’re on track” to “you’re # books behind schedule!”. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I log on to see “It’s hopeless. You’ll never catch up” glaring at me in the sidebar.
Last year I was so close to making my goal, but fell just short. I am re-pledging to read 60 books front to back. I exclude books that have been nominated for an Inspy Award (the Advisory Board reads every book that was nominated) because that is a different kind of reading and often many of the books have already made their way across my desk the year before and I don’t need to re-read them.
Just like last year, I have created a TBR list for inspy books releasing in 2015 that I can’t wait to read! Doing this helps to keep me on pace and gives me a pseudo blogging schedule. Below is a list of of the inspirational/Christian fiction books that are at the top of my reading list.
Falcon by Ronie Kendig
Maggie Bright by Tracy Groot
Tiffany Girl by Deeanne Gist
To Win Her Favor by Tamera Alexander
The Huntress of Thornbeck Forest by Melanie Dickerson
A Love Like Ours by Becky Wade
What’s on your TBR pile this year?
